A Proclamation of Gratitude from A Modern Revolutionary

For my 23 years of existence, I wept, cursed, grieved, and even surrendered. But many times I laughed, cared, fought, and loved. All these were lessons to be learned. All these were memories to keep. What truly saved me? FAMILY. FRIENDS. Two F's truly worth FIGHTING for. Some people left but they chose to stay. I was harsh but they remained gentle. They believed and never judged.

Two words, "THANK YOU." I don't know what good I did in the past to deserve this immense display of love from all of you. I could have gone nuts long ago without your patience and devotion. All I know is that you all are God's gift to me.

Indeed, I am blessed and will forever be grateful.

To my 23 years on Earth and more!

Paham and Jamie (09/24/2011)

Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Carl and Jamie (09/11/2011)

Pre-wedding photo of Carl and Jamie in infrared.

To capture "LOVE" in a photo is not easy especially if you do it in infrared. Thanks to Carl and Jamie for making this shoot a very memorable one.

It brought me such great pressure when Sinag asked me to take photos of the couple. My mind was telling me not to but my heart said otherwise. I did not want to ruin one of Carl and Jamie's precious moments together but Sinag's encouraging words pulled me out of my misery.

Semana Santa 2011

"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46)

As we remember Christ's passion, may we be touched by His heart full of forgiveness, love for mankind and God.

The Ghost from the Past

All these years I've been trying to protect myself from the only thing that scares me the most, YOU.
For the first time...
I ignored my doubts hoping you were the one for me.
For the first time...
I cared.
For the first time...
I took the risk to fall completely for you.
 For the first time...
I felt the pain I was trying to avoid for years.
For the first time,
I thanked a guy who broke my heart.

You are now a ghost from the past.

My Little Blue Pill

"Sometimes the things you want the most don't happen and what you least expect happens. I don't know - you meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you. And then you meet that one person and your life is changed."

-Love and Other Drugs

One thing I learned today is that I must not judge "Love and Other Drugs". True that the first few parts of the movie were steamy but in the end, it just made my heart melt.

1. I loved it when Jamie told Maggie how much he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

2. I loved it when Jamie told Maggie that she made him believe that he is enough.

3. I loved how the movie ended and how I wished it was my story, minus the Parkinson's.

I wonder when I'd meet that one person who would change my life. I wonder who would want to take care of me and who would want to be taken care by me. I wonder how I changed from being a cynic to a cheesy blogger. I wonder if I'm being cheesy or all these are just true. I wonder....

Celebrate Love

I've been bitter about all these cheesy stuff I see everywhere. I never celebrated Valentine's day, that is. I never had anyone to spend that day with. But, my life was never miserable. If you got used to people telling you life is miserable without a partner, think twice.

As I was exchanging tweets with a friend, who is also as bitter as I am, Jim Paredes tweeted this:

"This Valentine, let's think about human love and all its shades--romantic, platonic, brotherly, Christian, etc.. It will deepen us"

These words made me realize that, hell yeah, love can be expressed in so many ways that I don't need a special someone in order to appreciate the beauty of it. Life is full of love. Therefore, I should celebrate not just for love, but for life in general. I'm so blessed to be loved by family and friends. Now, that gives me more reason to celebrate LOVE.

The Beauty That Was Never Mine

The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars
As daylight doth a lamp; her eye in heaven
Would through the airy region stream so bright
That birds would sing and think it were not night.
